On 26 October 2026, the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) issued a special edition of its eNews on its proposed revisions to three interconnected standards: ISA 330, The Auditor's Responses to Assessed Risks; ISA 500, Audit Evidence; and ISA 520, Analytical Procedures.

The IAASB groups the proposals under four themes: audit evidence, building a more thorough basis for auditors' judgements about audit evidence; risk response, strengthening the link between assessed risks and the auditor's responses to them; professional judgement, reinforcing professional scepticism and professional judgement throughout the audit; and innovation, supporting innovation while keeping the standards principles-based rather than technology-specific.

The special edition brings together the consultation resources in one place: explanations of what is changing, on-demand recordings of a two-part webinar series, a four-part video series on key aspects of the proposals, and links for responding.

Auditors, firms, regulators, professional accountancy organisations, national standard setters and academics can respond through an integrated response form covering the three standards. Users of audited financial statements and others can instead complete a shorter user survey. The consultation closes on 15 December 2026.
